The EU Commission is ready to use the anti-crisis clause of Regulation 1466/97 on budgetary surveillance, which in fact suspends budgetary adjustments in the event of a severe contraction in the economy. According to ANSA, unless changes are made in the last hour, this is one of the elements of the guidelines on the flexibility of the Stability Pact that the Commission will present tomorrow.
