(ANSA) - PALERMO, MARCH 12 - There was a landing in Lampedusa tonight: 26 people, among them 2 children and a woman.
The mayor Totò Martello issued an ordinance to place migrants in the reception center with a ban on circulating outside it. "I don't see any other possible solutions - says Martello - we have a duty to protect public health. During the quarantine, each person hosted in the reception center will be monitored from a health point of view".
The migrants arrived a couple of hours ago and, as required by the new protocol dictated by the coronavirus emergency, only the health workers of the outpatient clinic went to molos and provided for the safe transport of migrants to the reception center.
The last landing in Lampedusa took place on February 18, when the Coast Guard blocked ten Tunisians who were walking along the Favaloro pier. The day before 16 migrants had landed and on February 14 another 60, rescued by the island's enlargement.
