Coronavirus: Slovenia, first death

(ANSAmed) - LUBIANA, MARCH 15 - In Slovenia the Minister of Health Tomaz Gantar has officially confirmed the first death from coronavirus in the country. The patient was elderly and affected by various chronic diseases, although the immediate cause of death would be due to the coronavirus, contracted in the Metlika care center for the elderly. The patient died at the Ljubljana hospital, but in the center of Metlika, the first contagion was confirmed on March 6, with the virus that soon spread because it is a doctor who had numerous contacts with the elderly and the staff of the facility, before it was closed. However, according to the official spokesman for the crisis unit Jelko Kacin, the autopsy will determine the exact cause of the death. At the moment, 181 infected have been registered in Slovenian, 3 of which in intensive care, out of 5,369 tests carried out.
