Every day, Le Parisien is mobilized to answer your questions.
Today, we are looking at the situation of this Internet user, who exposes it to us as follows: “Hello, I am a person at risk because immunocompromised and I wanted to know if my husband was forced to go to work or if there had special permission to stay at home as well. "
Since Monday, to limit the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, the French population has been placed in containment. People who work are invited to favor telework as much as possible, to respect this quarantine, but some people are forced to go physically to their place of activity.
But exemptions have been put in place by the government, allowing workers who request it to stay at home, being compensated without a waiting day. Since all schools are closed, a parent can request a work stoppage to babysit their child (ren). People classified as “at risk” by the High Council for Public Health (HCSP) can also benefit from a work stoppage.
No work stoppage or right of withdrawal
Among them, there are: people over 70 years old, patients with a cardiovascular history, insulin-dependent diabetics, people with chronic respiratory pathology, patients with renal insufficiency, patients with cancer under treatment…
On the other hand, the spouses of people at risk cannot benefit from a work stoppage planned by the government within the framework of the coronavirus.
The spouses of people at risk cannot claim the right of withdrawal either, since it only applies in the event of "serious and imminent danger" to their own health; the health of the spouse is therefore not taken into account. It can only be used if the employer does not allow its employees to respect barrier gestures, such as washing their hands and keeping a respectable distance from their colleagues and customers.
There remains the solution… to talk to your employer, who may be sensitive to this situation.
