Harvey Weinstein is coronavirus positive. The former producer was put in solitary confinement in the small prison of New York State where he was recently transferred to serve a sentence of up to 23 years in prison. The Niagara Gazette writes it. Weinstein is imprisoned in the Walden Correctional Center in Alden, a town outside Buffalo. He is one of two prison inmates who tested positive for the virus.
Prison authorities told Niagara Gazette that the former Miramax boss was already positive when he entered the New York State penitentiary system from Rikers Island, a New York City prison. Wende is a sorting center for inmates who are then moved to other facilities after undergoing medical tests.
Weinstein is 68 years old and suffers from heart. After his conviction and before being transferred to Rikers, he had a cardiac stent.
