In 2001, their disc Is This It drew the contours of the face of rock when it entered the 21st century. Since then, the five New Yorkers from The Strokes have refined the sketch using sharp guitar riffs, as melancholic as energetic, in songs like Reptilia, The End Has No End or You Only Live Once .

The great story could have continued, if the Strokes' lives had not been interspersed with addiction and dissension problems within the group. All of this, leading to an empty passage a decade later: the album Angles (2011) recorded without much conviction, then Comedown Machine (2013) for which the Strokes refused to make any promotion.
Each member then embarked on a parallel project like The Voidz - new collective of singer Julian Casablancas - or in a solo career, like guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. and drummer Fabrizio Moretti.
