Gucci will reopen its prototype workshop for leather and footwear in Scandicci (Florence) on Monday 20 April . The company announced this, explaining that this will take place "in maximum safety for employees". "The reopening - it is explained - takes place on the basis of the provisions of last April 10 and after an agreement just reached with the unions to strengthen the Safety Protocol of last March 15, thanks also to the advice of virologist Roberto Burioni of the Vita-Salute University San Raffaele of Milan ".
The resumption of activities will concern a limited number - about 10%, that is more or less 100 people - of the employees of the ArtLab headquarters , the center dedicated to research and development and to the design and construction of prototypes and samples for leather goods and Gucci shoes. "After careful consideration - said Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci - we made the decision to reopen the prototype of ArtLab, in agreement with the trade unions and guaranteeing the maximum level of safety and with all the necessary precautions, defined with the help of scientists of proven competence. This will allow us to lay the foundations for a wider reopening of our production sites and the restart of the Made in Italy supply chain, when allowed ". Before Monday - it is explained - the sanitization of all spaces will take place, remote sessions of information and preventive training will be held for workers on the prevention measures to be adopted upon return. Employees are advised to avoid the means and go to work by car and, in this very early stage, the company, to avoid even forms of carpooling, will make a company car available to those without their own means. An appropriate shift was also defined in the prototype departments both during the work activity and when entering the workplaces so as to avoid any gatherings. During the activity, inter alia, the measurement of body temperature at the entrance, the supply of anti-contagion kits, the distances between workers established by current regulations also in the canteen, break and changing rooms areas are foreseen.
