“I don't cook, I don't know how to take care of people. I told myself that I had a wall, a little material and two or three ideas for making messages, ”smiles Axel Bonnichon.

"Say thank you to the people who save us"

Almost every evening, he and his companion light up the nights of the 18th arrondissement in Paris with giant open-air projections. Their screen: two building facades located opposite their apartment. An open-air cinema piloted from a balcony on the 9th floor to "say thank you to the people who save us".

On April 1 it was their neighbor doctor Choukri Ben Omrane and his colleagues from the Urgences Médicales de Paris who were in the spotlight. Their faces paraded all evening a few meters from the rails of the Gare du Nord. A surprise proposed by Choukri to his entire team. "This video warmed their hearts in an incredible way," says the caregiver.

Meticulous organization

The idea of these giant projections germinated spontaneously just before confinement in the mind of Axel Bonnichon. Founder of the event organization agency Black Lemon, he was able to count on the generosity of his network to install high-quality professional equipment without paying a dime.

"We must quote Olivier Boissière, from Magnum, who lent us the equipment for free," said the forty-something man. Professional equipment which is also used to project the slides in the 10th arrondissement of Paris as well as in the south of France.

"We will have to think about what to do with the facades of Paris"

If visible only in three places, this initiative can be supported by all. You just have to post photos of relatives invested in the front line against the Covid-19, via a dedicated Facebook page. The photos are centralized to design the giant projections.
