The payment of the salaries of Euroleague players will be postponed to 15 August: athletes will be paid 85% if the tournament resumes and 80% if the competition is canceled for the Coronavirus. (HANDLE)

The payment of the salaries of Euroleague players will be postponed to 15 August: athletes will be paid 85% if the tournament resumes and 80% if the competition is canceled for the Coronavirus. On this basis, an agreement was signed between all the clubs of Euroleague and Elpa, the association that takes care of the interests of the players. Some clubs had already found agreements with their members, such as Bayern Munich of the Italian ds Daniele Baiesi (30% of the signings scissor) or the Ax Milano (the cut was converted into a million euros for hospitals in Lombardy) . As long as everything is suspended, the players are allowed to return home.
The Executive Committee of the Eca, meeting today via videoconference, has also decided to take a decision on the possible restart of Euroleague (the only Italian is Olimpia Milano) and Eurocup (competition in which the best sixteen Reyers remain in the game Venice and Virtus Bologna) "by May 24th", setting a timetable: the quarantine will be until June 11th, until July 2nd training sessions and Eurocup matches are scheduled - to be determined even if with the Final format Eight or the more traditional round trip - will be played in a single venue from 4 to 17 July, while those of Euroleague - the regular season will be closed to determine who will participate in the Final Eight - instead from 4 to 26 July. Should the season restart, players expiring on 30 June 2020 would have the contract automatically extended for an additional month.
The Board members then unanimously agreed that the competitions will only be resumed if the public health authorities and the competent local governments allow it and are evaluating a group of cities capable of hosting all the competitions. Many players, however, remain skeptical about the real possibility of a return to the field. Sergio Rodriguez, Olympia Milano playmaker, is "pessimistic" about the logistical difficulties during this pandemic.
