The Minister of Health, Ginés González García, confirmed that the quarantine established for now until Sunday, April 26 will continue throughout the country in May  , although it will have some modifications by region or activity: "In large urban centers it will remain firm , to maintain the success we have had so far. " In addition, he indicated that they are evaluating making it more flexible for the boys and indicated that this will be a measure that they will take "soon".

González García said that this Thursday there will be a teleconference with the health ministers of each province and that he will then meet with Alberto Fernández to evaluate the next measures to be taken.

When asked in TN about the possibility that the social isolation that has been going on for more than a month will extend during May, he replied: "The quarantine will continue, but in a different way , we are entering another type of phase where we are looking at geography."

"The later the spike in infections occurs the better for us. We will be more prepared," he remarked when asked by the journalist about whether the social and preventive isolation that has been going on for more than a month will extend throughout the month of May.

The Government has already decided to initiate what is called a "focused" quarantine in seven provinces where the governors requested the authorization of new activities and due to the epidemiological situation, the conditions are considered to be in place.

González García also spoke of the possibility of making the boys' outings more flexible, after the month of quarantine they begin to suffer the consequences of isolation: "It is an idea that we have been talking about and it will be a measure that we will take soon," he  admitted, although he clarified that he did not It depends on him but on President Alberto Fernández.

The minister also announced that starting this Friday, they will begin to test in the main train stations of the City of Buenos Aires to find out how the situation is regarding the number of asymptomatic people circulating. The tests will be done on passengers who voluntarily lend to them.

In this regard, he explained that will be first stations Constitution, Retiro and Once, and then expand to other parts of the country: "The idea is to do 300 tests per day . Although we have more than 440 thousand reagents The The goal is to have a more complete map "of the progress of the coronavirus.

Earlier, in an interview with C5N González García showed concern about the situation of the doctors infected with Covid-19. In this sense, he said that it is logical that many of them are infected by contact with so many patients, but the number of cases among health professionals seems excessive.

"I see in some irresponsibility, because many went to work with fever without knowing that they can be carriers themselves. You have to be very careful," he warned.

Along these lines, he said that “very few” of the confirmed cases within the hospitals themselves were the result of direct transmission by patients with coronavirus who had been treated and were hospitalized. For this reason, he spoke of "horizontal contact" between the health workers themselves.
