The "Riddler Boy from Mumbai" died on Wednesday at the age of 53 from complications of inflammation, which caused the cancer disease he had two years ago, reports abroad.

Irfan was hospitalized last night with colon inflammation at the ICU in Mumbai.

Representatives on his behalf initially denied the rumors of his death, confirming only his hospitalization in the intensive care unit under close medical surveillance. "His strength and courage have helped him fight and fight so far, and we are confident that with his tremendous willpower and prayers from all his lovers he will soon recover," the media said.

Irfan, whose most famous role was in the movie "The Riddler Boy from Mumbai" where he played the detective, also starred in "Faye's Life" "The Wonderful Spider-Man", "Jurassic World" and the third season of the "In Treatment" series.

He was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumor in March 2018 - such tumors tend to develop in the digestive system. The actor received medical treatment in the UK, but in recent months he has been in India with the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.

Today, as stated, officials on his behalf confirmed his death in a statement to the media. "A man of few words and an actor of silent expressions with deep eyes and on-screen roles. It's sad that we are forced to confirm the news of his death on this day," his family said. "Iperan lost in battle with the rare cancer he had, and took his last breaths at the hospital in Mumbai.

"Irfan was a strong soul, someone who fought until the last second and always inspired those who were close to him. Surrounded by his lovers and his family he loved so much, he left for heaven leaving a legacy. We pray and hope he found rest."
