Against the backdrop of next week's return to children for schools and kindergartens, the Association of Pediatrics recommends consuming Vitamin D, also known as the "Sun Vitamin," and responsible for important actions such as calcium absorption and bone tissue retention.

In a statement issued by the union: "These days, when we are out for a long and harsh winter without exposure to the sun, and most of the public is closed because of the COVID19 coronary virus epidemic, it is advisable to take unconventional actions including short sun exposure and taking a daily vitamin D supplement of 1000 units a day for all children. For six weeks. "

In addition, the Association of Pediatrics called on the Ministry of Health to adopt a milk enrichment policy on vitamin D without delay in favor of public health in Israel.

According to the outline of the curriculum that is currently underway, first and third graders will return to study in small groups, and kindergartens aged 3-6 (about half a million) will return to kindergarten in rotation according to days. Some preschoolers will arrive Sunday through Tuesday, and some Wednesday through Friday. However, at this time many teachers and teachers are expressing concerns about returning to routine, due to being under the "risk population" group and other problems such as the lack of arrangement for teaching staff children to stay home.
