(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 30 - Yemen has announced that it has registered the first two deaths from coronavirus, after having reported five confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the past few days.
He reports it to Jazira online, stressing that the United Nations has said that it fears that the epidemic could spread unnoticed in the country, where millions of people are forced to face a famine and lack medical treatment.
The war in Yemen between Houthi rebels and government-led troops intensified in March 2015, when a Saudi-led military coalition intervened against Iranians who still control much of the country, including the capital.
More than five years of civil war have, among others, severely degraded the country's health service, making it absolutely inadequate to cope with Covid-19.
