To attend a funeral you will have to undergo a thermoscanner before entering the place of worship and you will be blocked with a temperature above 37.5. The arrangement also applies to outdoor celebrations. At the moment of Communion, the priest will go to the faithful (maximum 15); he will wear the mask and will be able to distribute the hosts on his hand after having sanitized his own hands. These are the practical indications for the funeral that can be celebrated from Monday.

To provide detailed indications to the bishops, and through them to the parish priests, on how to celebrate the funeral from Monday 4 May is the secretary general of the CEI, Msgr. Stefano Russo on the basis of the protocol drawn up at the end of the confrontation of these days with government institutions and the Technical-Scientific Committee. At the entrance of the churches, or in the dedicated outdoor spaces (if available), there will be a security officer who will have to measure body temperature, using a digital thermometer or a thermo-scanner. And this will also have to be done for outdoor celebrations. The assistant must block access to those who have a body temperature above 37.5 ° C. "Given the possibility of celebrating the funeral with the Holy Mass, displacements should be avoided when the Eucharistic Communion is distributed" indicates Msgr. Russian based on the agreement reached. It will be the priest to move, wearing the mask and still respect the distance. As far as sanitization is concerned, the church must be sanitized regularly, "by cleaning the surfaces and furnishings with suitable antiseptic detergents". At the end of each celebration, the exchange of air must be encouraged. The outdoor celebration is to be preferred both in suitable spaces, adjacent to the church, and in the cemetery areas where it is possible to do so while maintaining an adequate physical distance. The CEI invites the parish priests to issue these provisions as soon as possible through their digital channels but also by posting special information signs at the entrance to the church. It is necessary to expressly indicate "the obligation to stay at home in the presence of body temperature above 37.5 ° C or other flu symptoms. It is recommended not to enter the church anyway and not to participate in the funeral celebrations if flu symptoms are present or there has been contact with positive people in Sars-Cov-2 in the previous days.
