First it was the province of Córdoba that announced that this semester the students will not have a grade at school. Last week the cities of Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Entre Ríos and La Pampa joined. Finally, the measure will govern everything in all schools in the country . The ministers of education have already agreed and this Friday they will ratify it within the framework of the Federal Council of Education . The measure will apply to all schools at all levels.
In the Ministry of Education, they work on the idea that students are not graded this semester with either a numerical grade or any other scale that implies an input to prove the learning. Instead, they seek to have a “formative evaluation”, which records the interactions that students had with teachers in distance education, the progress of students and a feedback on the capabilities of the new system to achieve learning. and a self-assessment by the students.
The new system has already been agreed with the 24 educational jurisdictions and this Friday, in the Federal Council, the national framework for the promotion of the school year will be agreed.
From the Ministry of Education they also promote that there is a pedagogical unit between first and third grade , this means that until they finish third grade, children cannot repeat. There is talk of “accompanied promotion”, within the framework of resolution 174 of the Ministry of Education in 2012, which had already generated - with some controversy, then - the pedagogical unit between first and second grade.
Meanwhile, in the ruling party they advance with the protocol for the return to classes. Always observing what happens in European countries and how the Covid-19 contagion curve behaves in Argentina, the idea today is for classes to return in August, after winter break and in a "staggered" way. The objective is to reach a scheme in which schools are divided into two and that half of the boys from that school attend every day .
What is Coronavirus? How is it spread and what are its symptoms?

Those who go to school will go all day, at 100% of the established schedule, to use less public transport. The only ones who would go every day are the students from the last years of primary and secondary school.
