Richard Melville Hall sets his battles to music in the ambient electro disc All Visible Objects which has just been released.

Scuttling himself? Moby is an expert. After reaching success in the late 1990s with Play , the singer-producer seems to have decided to destroy his image with backhoes and shocking declarations against carnivores, Republican voters or Eminem, even if it means alienating part of the public. To believe that he is now more concerned with the fight for animal rights or against firearms than his own career.

Recently, the singer has proudly displayed a “Vegan For Life” tattoo on his neck and an “Animal Rights” on his arms. A way for Richard Melville Hall of his real name to make visible his fight for animal rights. A struggle he has waged for ten years by donating all the profits from his albums to charitable organizations.

In his album All Visible Objects , available Friday, the 54-year-old singer continues this philanthropic and self-destructive impulse. Through eleven titles navigating between electronic and ambient music he observes a reality which seems to revolt him more and more.

In Too Much Change , he expresses his difficulty in finding his bearings in a world in upheaval. "What are we supposed to feel?" What are we supposed to do? ” , he wonders. With My Only Love , he denounces the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest and its consequences for the planet.

Moby lent the microphone to the singer Apollo Jane and to the drummer of the punk group Dead Kennedys, DH Peligro. "We who hate oppression / Must fight against the oppressors / Power is not shared / Power is taken" , repeats it on the title Power Is Taken . A call to revolt that we imagine directly addressed against Trump whose election coincided with a radicalization of Moby's speech. Recently, he declared to the Belgian media La Dernier Heure / Les Sports "crossing his fingers so that Donald Trump catches the Covid-19" . A declaration of which only he has the secret.
