The nightmare for the Camillian women of Grottaferrata ends. In the convent, at the gates of Rome, 57 cases had been registered in a few days and for this reason he had been put in solitary confinement. Now "all the religious came out of isolation because they tested negative", says Mother Zélia Andrighetti, Superior general of the Congregation of the Daughters of San Camillo. Last March 20, the Community of the Daughters of San Camillo di Grottaferrata, where the Generalate of the Congregation is located, was hit by Covid-19. The Health Unit immediately intervened and quarantined the entire community.
"Given the high number of infected people concentrated in a structure, the daily management of insulation, in compliance with all health safety standards, was particularly elaborate. But we were not alone - says Mother Zelia -. Impossible to cross the gates of the convent, the entire citizenship of Grottaferrata was immediately close to us, starting with the mayor Luciano Andreotti always available to our every need. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of them ". The nuns thank doctors, paramedics, law enforcement. But the whole town of the Castelli Romani gathered around the convent.
"Even if outside the convent gates the entire population lived, and continues to live, in precautionary quarantine, many were the messages of closeness that we received every day; as many were the practical offers of help. Thanks, so much solidarity - they say the sisters - gave us the strength to overcome every difficult moment ". The nuns let it be known that they returned "a lot of attention" with the prayers. "The whole community prays for you and your families - the sisters say to their neighbors - asking for the intercession of Saint Giuseppina Vannini, because soon we can be freed from this pandemic and return to the normalcy of our days, enriched by an experience that made us suffer but that made us better women and men ".
