According to a local report, Cyprus is expected to open its doors to tourists on June 9, and Israelis will be the first to enter. According to the same report, Israelis may not even have to undergo a corona test upon entering.

The final and official decision on the opening times of airports and hotels is expected to be published only tomorrow, according to the country's corona morbidity data. Paphos and Larnaca airports will be the first to open, according to country reports. Although the expected date is June 9, the hotels are expected to open to local tourists on June 1.

At the request of the Cypriot government, a special committee has compiled a list of 20 countries with low morbidity levels, which will allow tourists to enter, of course Israel. As noted, according to country publications, tourists from both Israel and Greece may not even have to undergo corona testing when entering Cyprus due to the low morbidity levels in the countries.

In spite of all this, it is not yet clear which countries will be included in the list, and there is concern that the Cyprus government will decide to include tourists from less secure countries as well.

As mentioned, in recent days, the Ministry of Health, together with other government ministries, are examining tourism agreements with various countries that have succeeded in overcoming the spread of the Corona virus. Countries include Cyprus, Austria, Greece, Seychelles, Georgia and Montenegro.

On the face of it, it seems like the right move, but yesterday the Greek media reported that the Greek government has decided to open its doors to every tourist arriving from the European Union and Israel from July 1 at the latest, and probably the opening of the gates will take place even before. Thus, citizens of Spain, Italy, France, Germany and other European countries with high morbidity rates can come and relax alongside holidaymakers from Israel.
