More ease in the Corona restrictions • The gathering will be possible while saving two meters between people and wearing masks • There are also updates on seating distances in the workplace • Edelstein: "Time to open - but without complacency"

After an assessment of the Corona issue, New Health Minister Yuli Edelstein decided to further reduce restrictions on the spread of the virus. Following the discussion held by senior ministry officials, and according to the positions expressed by the professional echelons, the minister instructed his office manager Moshe Bar a good sign to sign an order permitting gathering of up to 50 people in closed buildings.

In a statement from the minister, it was made clear that "the possibility of gathering will be subject to two meters from each other and wearing masks."

The announcement also states that "seating will be possible in non-masked workplaces with a 1.20 meter partition between employee and employee, up from 1.50 to date."

In assessing the situation, which was attended by, among others, Deputy Minister Yoav Kish, Director General Bar Siman Tov, Deputy Director-General of Prof. Itamar Grotto, and Head of Public Health Prof. Sigal Sadecki, they also discussed the need to prepare for another outbreak of the Corona in Israel.

"We are in a 'time to open' situation but must not enter complacency," Minister Edelstein said. "The continued opening of the economy in accordance with the Ministry of Health's layout depends mainly on our adherence to the rules of the Ministry of Health. Without the cooperation of Israeli citizens, the Corona virus may intensify and the economy may close again."

In the meantime, this week it was decided that restaurants around the country will return to full activity starting May 27. According to an agreement drawn up between the restaurant association and representatives from the health, finance and economic ministries, restaurants, bars and clubs (no performances but with the possibility of a DJ), a few rules will be opened. If the building is optimized to accommodate up to 100 customers, 100% of its area will be occupied, and over 100 customers - only 85% will be allowed.

Seating outside restaurants will also be allowed within a meter-to-person distance, and customers will be charged with heat measurement at the entrance.
