Some of the Argentines stranded in South Africa since international flights were canceled under the coronavirus restrictions made a drastic decision to try to achieve their repatriation and chained themselves at the door of the Embassy in that country.

" We want to go home, " was the slogan with which the stranded Argentines spread the images of their protest in front of the diplomatic headquarters located in Pretoria, the administrative capital.

The image of the protest began to circulate on social networks. In it, a man with the shirt of the Argentine soccer team is seen tied to one of the columns of the entrance to the Embassy by Alberto D´Alotto.

"They are going to kill us at any time," warned one of the Argentines participating in that protest, according to the newspaper El Día de La Plata, who contacted one of the Argentines stranded there.

Daniel Tavormina (57) is the one who decided to chain himself in the place and seven other people accompany him.

Meanwhile, Together for Change deputy Luis Petri also replied to that claim through his Twitter account.

More than 60 days have passed and there are still thousands of Argentines stranded and helpless in the world who do not know what to do to return to the country in the face of the distressing situation, until they chain themselves to be heard as in South Africa #argentinosvarados pic.twitter.com/ H5fyv8BUUy

"More than 60 days have passed and there are still thousands of Argentines stranded and helpless in the world who do not know what to do to return to the country in the face of the distressing situation, until they chain themselves to be heard as in South Africa," warned the opposition leader.

The Mendoza legislator was one of the leaders who filed complaints with the national government so that the necessary steps can be taken so that the citizens who were abroad can return to their homes.

Petri and his partner Waldo Wolff even organized videoconferences with the stranded Argentines to learn in detail about their situation. "Here there is no politics involved, it is not the idea, we do not judge them if they traveled for a walk, to work, if they have money, a lot or a little, we do not share that they are treated as chetos for being abroad. We understand that they are going through a complicated situation in every way, with problems to stay in those destinations, "said Petri in one of those contacts.
