(ANSA) - CAGLIARI, JUNE 08 - Twelve Sardinian companies in the agri-food sector donate 5 percent of the products sold.
   This is the "Together for Sardinia" project promoted by the Agro-industry and Food section of Confindustria Centro Nord Sardegnac with the collaboration of large retail chains.
   Companies that employ 700 employees with a turnover of 223 million euros participate: GeneraleConserve (As do Mar), Fratelli Pinna Industria Casearia, Distillerie Rau, Acqua San Martino, Acqua Giara, Rau ArteDolciaria, Lucrezio Erre, Accademia Olearia, Sa Marigosa, Tanda & Sword, Sardinya Carni, Capichera.
   In particular, 5 percent of the sales of a complete basket of products (tuna, cheeses, oil, pasta, preserves, meats, sweets and liqueurs, wine, water) will be donated, offered at a preferential price. The final consumer, with the purchase, will thus participate in an intervention of economic support for those in difficulty, a donation in goods or in value in favor of Caritas and the Italian Red Cross. The initiative starts today with SuperEmme brands and will continue with the other chains until mid-July. An action that aims at solidarity and which also involves the SuperEmme chains (Iperpan and Superpan brands), Ibba srl ​​(Crai and Simply brands), Isa (Nonna Isa, Sidis, Dimeglio, Puntodì and D'Italy brands), Scs (Despar brands and Eurospar), Sardegna Più (Sardegna Più and Coop brands) and Conad, which will offer the basket of products through their hypermarkets and supermarkets.
   The "Together for Sardinia" initiative comes after previous support and solidarity activities started during the dilockdown period by Confindustria Centro Nord Sardegna, which promoted a collection of funds already destined for the Caritas and CroceRossa Italiana offices in Sassari Olbia and Oristano and a collection of products food, coordinated by the president of the Agro-Industry and Food Section, Gianni Simula, destined and distributed to Caritas, the Red Cross and Civil Protection to help citizens and families in difficulty due to the health emergency.
