In a wedding dress and bow tie suit, Kerry Anne and Michael Gordon celebrated their wedding in the midst of the crowd of protesters who came to protest against police violence in Philadelphia, in the United States. The couple knew that the demonstration could disrupt their ceremony, but the lovers kept their date to join the procession a few moments after saying "yes".
"Not only do we feel at the heart of the people's movement ... But I join my husband, a strong black man, who represents well who we are, what our culture is," said the bride, journalists from the ABC television channel. "[Our marriage] ended up becoming an extremely strong moment."
Cheered by the protesters, Kerry Anne and Michael Gordon raised their fists in support of George Floyd, who died of asphyxiation during his arrest after an officer kept his knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
