WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus confirmed on Monday a renewed case of coronavirus in Beijing where the epidemic seemed to have been eradicated for several weeks. Chinese authorities have announced the closure of five markets including the huge wholesale market in Xinfadi, one of the largest in Asia, where the virus was spotted last week. Thirty residential areas have also been quarantined.

While this epidemic upsurge raises fears of a "second wave", the World Health Organization (WHO) said Monday follow "very closely" the situation in Beijing and mentioned the possible sending of additional experts in the next days.
