A private helicopter with two people on board crashed in the countryside of Collesano, a Madonie town in the province of Palermo. The scene was filmed with a cell phone by a person who raised the alarm. Firefighters, Forestry and 118 teams are on the way as well as the carabinieri.
The two people who were on board the helicopter, the pilot and a passenger, were recovered by the rescuers and transported to the Giglio hospital in Cefalù. According to the doctors, they would not be life threatening. The two were engaged in the consolidation of a rocky ridge overlooking the town of Collesano. A rockfall barrier was descending with the helicopter when, perhaps due to the strong wind, the aircraft crashed into the rock.
