(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, JULY 11 - In the clashes yesterday evening before the parliament in Belgrade 14 policemen were injured, while 71 violent demonstrators were arrested.
Serbian police chief Vladimir Rebic said it today.
Speaking at a press conference, Rebic added that arrested fragli include several foreign nationals from Montenegro, Tunisia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Great Britain.
Overall, since the beginning of the anti-government protests in recent days - said Rebic - there have been more than 130 injured police officers who have been forced to treatment by doctors. Many others suffered lighter injuries. In the violence, several journalists and cameramen were injured, the police chief said.
Clashes and fights also took place between opposing groups of demonstrators, and one person was stabbed. All those responsible for the violence and assaults on policemen and peaceful people will be called to respond in accordance with the law. (ANSAmed) (ANSA).
