A body of a migrant abandoned for 15 days at sea, supported by a dinghy wreck, spotted several times by the plane of the NGO Seabird, but never recovered despite reports. The first to publish the photo were those of Sea Watch Italy on twitter on 30 June, as La Repubblica reports today, explaining that the migrant could be the victim of one of the shipwrecks that occurred between 29 and 30 June in front of Libya, when in several relief operations were saved on several occasions about eighty people, in particular from the Ionian Sea.
Yesterday, in his first mission, #Seabird sighted in Libyan SAR what we never wanted to be forced to show you: the nameless body of a person on the remains of a semi-sunken dinghy of which we know nothing.
We ask the authorities for clarification. pic.twitter.com/oidpKGV85E
The new symbol photo of the tragedy of migrations was also commented by Caritas: "A body at sea for two weeks off Libya. Nobody wants to give it a worthy burial. Four sightings and four alerts sent by Seabird. But the coast guards of Italy, Libya and Malta ignored them. The body of the migrant still in the water, adrift. "
