After months of lockdown, for 7 Italians out of 10 pet owners it is time to enjoy a few days of relaxation together with the inseparable 4-legged companion. In the survey of the digital market research company Toluna, some considerations on how Italians prepare themselves before a trip with their most trusted friend.
Salute, departure and go

In addition to ensuring optimal and safe travel conditions (72%) for the well-being of their pet, the Italians who are about to leave claim to pay special attention also to their health. The sample reached claims to inquire about mandatory vaccinations for the destination (50%), to check the presence of a veterinarian on site (43%) and to book a preventive visit (34%), although normally most of the respondents (45%) say they go to the vet only once every six months.
A check before departurewhich is significant especially among the very young (51%), while only 35% of Baby Boomers and 29% of Generation X claims to make an appointment in the clinic. However, medical consultation is considered indispensable not only for check-up analyzes (64%), but also for the choice of external pesticides (55%), the recommendation of skin care products (54%) - one of the problems more frequent summer holidays - and correct documentation on the regulations in force in the territory of arrival (52%).

Between online information and offline shopping
After a scrupulous assessment of your physical condition, it's time to think about " what to pack ". To orientate on the choice, most of the interviewees declare to inquire online while for the purchase they prefer to go directly to the store. The pet store chains are positioned in first place (48%), followed by Independent Business (35%) and specialized online marketplace (30%), while the more generalist such as Amazon (27%) or the brand eCommerce ( 24%) rank 5th and 6th in the ranking. The quality of the product (32%), the veterinarian's recommendations (25%) and the price (10%) are decisive for the final decision.

In the dog bag checklist you will find above all hygiene products (67%), food (67%), medical-surgical devices (57%) and pharmaceutical items (51%) , although what you absolutely cannot miss is your favorite food (79%), the vaccination / passport booklet (73%) and important medicines as well as the necessary for emergencies (68%). And the most loved toy is not missing in the suitcase (64%) which is confirmed by the younger ones (76%). 
The new great ally: technology
Surprisingly, Italians will find space in the furry friend's bag also for technological gadgets . The most prone to the adoption of new devices prove to be very young as always, almost 1 in 2 declares that they will bring a tech accessory with them, preferring intelligent games (48%), followed by a GPS collar (44%) and a camera (41% ).
