(ANSA) - COSENZA, JULY 23 - The Corte d'Assise of Cosenza sentenced Giovanni Di Cicco, 49, to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife, Romina Innicelli, 44, who took place in Cassano allo Jonio, in the Cosenza area, in the night between 15 and 16 April last year.
The judging panel, chaired by Paola Lucente, accepted the conviction request made by the public prosecutor, Valentina Draetta.
Romina Innicelli, when she was killed, was in the second month of pregnancy. Her husband raged on her first trying to distract her and then finishing her with stick strokes.
Di Cicco, to investigators, revealed that just before the murder he had taken a dose of drugs that would have made him lose any form of self-control. (HANDLE).
