Marc Marquez will be racing on Sunday in the second motogp of the season, scheduled on the Spanish track in Jerez de la Frontera. Just two days after the operation on his right humerus, with a Honda tweet the rumors circulating yesterday afternoon were confirmed: the world champion intends to compete. "After the successful operation on Tuesday, Marc Marquez will return to Jerez" reads an official Honda tweet published this morning. Just yesterday the pilot had been discharged from the Barcelona clinic. Today there will be official medical visits, before the final go-ahead.
The motogp world champion suffered a bad crash last Sunday during the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez, the first race of the 2020 world championship. A fall that caused the right humerus to break in several places, but no muscle injury. On Tuesday the pilot was operated on by Dr. Mir's team in a clinic in Barcelona and yesterday he was discharged in excellent condition. So much so that yesterday even the first rumors had circulated about the desire of the Spanish centaur to get back on track immediately, without waiting - as in the initial forecasts - for the third round of the world championship in Brno, in the first week of August. This morning the Honda tweet with the announcement that after Tuesday's perfectly successful operation, Marquez is ready to race already in Jerez where the second motogp of the season will also be held. The final go-ahead, however, must come from the official doctors of the race.
