A surprise entitled "Folklore" is coming for Taylor Swift fans: the queen of global pop music has announced the debut, at midnight on July 23rd, of an album composed entirely of new songs.
The song collection, which includes titles like "Epiphany", "Peace", "The Last Great American Dinasty" and "Illicit Affairs", is the eighth for the artist and the first after "Lover" of 2019: "Many the things I had planned to do this summer did not come true, but there was something I hadn't planned and that happened instead, "wrote the ten-time Grammy Award on her Instagram profile.
"At midnight I will release an entirely new album in which I poured all my whims, dreams, fears and meditation", added Swift: "I wrote and recorded this music in isolation, but I managed to collaborate with some of my musical heroes" , including Jack Antonoff, Bon Iver, Aaron Dessner from the band The National and William Bowery.
On Instagram Taylor added some reflections on the pandemic and on the strange and difficult times in which the album saw the light: "Before this year I would have probably thought and rethought what the 'perfect' moment would have been to publish this music, but the times in which we live continue to remind me that there is nothing guaranteed. My instincts tell me that if you have done something you love, you simply have to let it out into the world. "
The standard edition of "Folklore" will have 16 tracks, while the deluxe edition will include one more: "Since this is my eighth studio album, I made eight deluxe CD editions and eight deluxe vinyl editions available for a week."
