(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 24 - After the months of forced stop, the Formula 1 engines started up again and the fans' public is back on track.
The first two Grands Prix were held in Austria, the third in Hungary, all three live exclusively on Sky and inreplica on Tv8. The average audience - notes the Phrase Study - was 1.2 million with Hungary and Austria at 1.3 million, while the GP Styria has just exceeded one million (similar results for the deferred races on TV8 ). Sky always sends races on Sky F1 and sometimes also on Sky Sport 1, channels that are also received on digital terrestrial pay: the weight of this last platform on total listening has grown, from 9% of the last championship to 13% of the three GPs that have been held so far.
If football has now gone beyond gender limits, the motors remain the prerogative of men's culture and passion. 69.6% of those who followed the Hungarian Grand Prix - Studio Phrase points out - are male. Interestingly, compared to the age groups, note that it is adolescents between 15 and 19 years of age who produce the highest audience share (6.9%).
The interest in engines is also measured by digital Auditel: between 3 and 19 July the clips relating to F1 on Sky Sports were followed for about 17 thousand hours in total (16,735) generated by 939 thousand clicks: 78% of these values concentrate three weekends between free practice, qualifying and races. The highlights of the Austrian GP are the most followed clips with 101milaclick.
The performance of the Maranello team obviously influences the listening: "The Styrian and Hungarian GPs have not gone as far and certainly the disappointing performances of the Ferrari have influenced and, if they continue, they will continue to influence not only the clips but also the future plays of the Formula 1 GranPremi ", underlines Francesco Siliato, head of the Phrase Study Observatory.
