During the summer, when we are more active in outdoor games, trips, friends and more ... it is very important to drink a lot of water.

The human body is composed mostly of water, about 78 percent to be exact. Therefore, every cell in our body needs a sufficient amount of water.

Drinking water helps maintain health, energy, creativity and balance. Water plays a number of important physical functions in the human body, they take part in all life processes, help solve medical problems and even contribute to weight loss.

Any change in the amount of water supply to the body can affect all body systems. The amount of water affects our blood volume and water consumption is done by eating and drinking, with the help of which the body cleanses itself of toxins. Heli Maman, who owns support groups for a healthy lifestyle, and Ortal Rubin, coordinator of the field of naturopathy at Clalit Complementary Medicine, provide a number of tips for maintaining body fluids on hot days.

Sweeten the water  - we often get tired of the familiar taste of the water. Improve your drinking experience to something more refreshing. Add slices of lemon or fresh mint to the bottles the day before and enjoy clear and refreshing water.

Drinking test - One of the most common ways to check if we both have enough is to look at the color of the urine. It can be concluded that cloudy and yellow urine is a sign of a lack of drinking while almost transparent urine will usually indicate a good and sufficient consumption of water. Of course many factors, including exercise, weather, kidney function and more can affect the guidelines for drinking water.

Children tend to lose more fluids than adults due to high metabolism and because of their tendency to forget to drink. This may be because their sense of thirst is not yet sufficiently developed, so special attention should be paid to drinking fluids.

Slowly accustom your body to the new amount of drinking - when you suddenly try to start drinking a larger amount of water than we were used to so far, you may feel uncomfortable and want to go to the bathroom more often. Because our bladder is flexible and can expand, its volume will increase as you persevere with the new habit.

Exercise - It is important to drink before and during exercise, especially in hot weather that the body tends to warm up lightly. Also, if you exercise outdoors, be sure to sip water every 15 minutes so as not to dry out .

Foods that contain water - There are foods that contain a high percentage of water. However, it is better to concentrate on balancing the fluid economy in the body by drinking enough water and not by relying on food as a source of water. It is also important to remember that as part of the diet, water comes along with many other substances that are also important to consider. Watermelon, for example, contains a high percentage of water, but also sugar. It is of course better to consume water-rich foods like fruits and vegetables that will help us improve our daily water intake. "A significant portion of vegetables contain 90 percent more water, and they are also the healthier option because they contain low sugar levels."
