Coronavirus: cases increase in Greece, mask requirement

Greece is taking shelter against the coronavirus after a record increase in cases and imposes the obligation to wear masks in all indoor public places, including churches. The online edition of the Greek newspaper Kathimerini reports it. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 02 - Greece runs for cover against the coronavirus after a record increase in cases and imposes the mask obligation in all public places indoors, including Lechiese. The online edition of the Greek newspaper Kathimerini reports it.
    Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, also announced that gatherings in indoor premises will be prohibited from 3 to 9 August and the use of masks outdoors when there is a crowd is strongly recommended. Hospital visits are also suspended until 15 August and all religious holidays are canceled until 31 August. The policy squeeze was decided after 78 new Covid-19 cases were registered in 24 hours on Friday, a record number since the end of the lockdown. Of these 10 were tourists intercepted upon their arrival in Greece.
    In total there were 4,401 cases of coronaviruse 203 victims in the country. (HANDLE).
