Team Ineos has decided as a precaution to withdraw their riders from the Italian Championship, in line with the Covid-19 protocols, after Leonardo Basso tested positive. The athlete - as the team itself informs - has always been asymptomatic. Basso had tested negative on Tuesday and only trained with the team yesterday after recovering from a knee problem.
Basso carried out the reconnaissance of the time trial with Ganna, Puccio and Moscon: the four will self-isolate for 14 days. None of them had been designated for the Tour de France, where Ineos with Bernal will try to confirm itself at the top.
