1,357 new carriers of the corona virus have been diagnosed since midnight in 21,057 tests and nine more have died, the Ministry of Health updated tonight (Tuesday). This puts the number of active patients at 21,577 and 858 others have died so far. The percentage of positive tests today stands at 6.6%.

The number of patients in critical condition has reached a new record and stands at 427 people, 121 of them respirators - another record. Yesterday, 1,889 new carriers were identified in 30,037 tests - with the percentage of positive tests standing at 6.7%. To date, 106,245 people have been infected with the virus in Israel.

The data indicate that there is pressure on the health system, as the occupancy in the corona wards at Assuta Ashdod, Poria, Laniado, Shaare Zedek and Shamir-Assaf Harofeh and Rambam is more than 100%, while in Assuta Ashdod the occupancy is 300%. 1,751 people Health staff are now in isolation after being exposed to Corona patients.

The strike is indefinite and includes medical laboratories in hospitals, the community as well as the public health laboratories of the Ministry of Health. Laboratory workers go out to fight for their status, workloads and employment conditions.
