(ANSA) - KABUL, AUGUST 26 - There are 100 deaths from floods caused by torrential rains that hit 10 provinces of Afghanistan during the night. Most of the victims were recorded in Charikar, the capital of Parwan province, near Kabul. The fast flow of water engulfed hundreds of homes and buried parts of the city in mud and debris. "Many women and children among the dead in Charikar and in the villages around the capital," said Wahida Shahkar, spokesman for the governor of Parwan. Many families unexpected to know news about their loved ones overwhelmed by the mud. Torrential rains hit the city early in the morning, surprising most people in their sleep.
