Tortelloni are available fresh on the refrigerated shelf. But are the filled dumplings tasty and free from germs and pollutants? Stiftung Warentest has tested 19 products.
Fresh pasta comes in very handy when you have to go fast. It usually tastes better than the dried variants - but without the hurdle of preparing it yourself. How about, for example, tortelloni?

Stiftung Warentest: This is how the fresh tortelloni cut from the refrigerated shelf
At least 13 products scored "good", including all of the tested products with cheese filling. These were products from Aldi Nord, Aldi Süd, Edeka and organic goods from Rewe.
In the case of the ricotta and spinach tortelloni, the testers only rated two products as "sufficient" . These contained enterobacteria . The germs are usually killed by a preparation in hot water according to "test". One product was even rated as "defective" - the testers found chlorate. According to the testers, this pollutant can inhibit iodine absorption.
