Special forces arrested a police officer in Braunschweig last night.

The officer is therefore strongly suspected of having seriously injured his former partner with knife cuts.
The man was a police officer from Thuringia who had previously been suspended from duty, said a spokesman for the Thuringia public prosecutor.
Why the man was suspended was not disclosed.
Further information could not be given at the moment for tactical reasons, the message said.
Woman with serious injury in hospital
The man is said to have ambushed his 45-year-old ex-partner in a parking lot in Erfurt on Monday afternoon and inflicted several knife cuts on her face.
The woman was then taken to hospital with serious injuries.
After the attack, the suspended police officer escaped in a car.
He had been searched for nationwide.
The criminal police are now investigating serious bodily harm.
The 42-year-old was initially provisionally arrested.
However, he should be brought back to Thuringia on Tuesday.
An arrest warrant against him should be applied for there, according to the dpa news agency from the public prosecutor's office.
