In the middle of summer, wasps change their diet: where they “fly” mainly on proteins in early summer, ie sausage and meat, the insects prefer sugary foods towards the end of summer.
The rearing of their offspring is the reason for this: Wasp larvae need proteins in order to grow.
The worker wasps feed proteins and the larvae produce sugar water in return
