A 25-year-old is said to have injured a policewoman and a policeman in Düsseldorf.
The police-known man was noticed during a control in a bus because he had not worn a mask, said a police spokesman.
When the man was approached, he fled the bus.
With his fists raised and one knee first, the police said he jumped on a 23-year-old officer who stood in his way at the bus stop.
After the attack, the man tried to flee, but was overpowered and brought to the ground by a 30-year-old police officer.
There he continued to kick and hit the officer.
Together with employees of the Rheinbahn, he was said to have been handcuffed.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the man.
The policewoman was so badly injured that she was initially unable to serve.
