As a rival for an illegal race on the A66 in Hesse, a man chose a civilian car from the autobahn police.
The 39-year-old had overtaken the patrol in the direction of Rüdesheim with a "conspicuous driving style", as the police in Wiesbaden announced.
The officers then started the persecution.
The driver steadily increased the speed with his BMW 7 Series and drove close to other vehicles.
"During his journey, the man accelerated to over 190 at a permitted 100 kilometers per hour and then drove at high speed and screeching tires from the A66 onto the tangent to the A643 in the direction of Wiesbaden," reported the police.
The patrol managed to overtake the car with special signals and to stop it in a parking lot in the Wiesbaden urban area.
The 39-year-old behaved unreasonably and uncooperatively, the police said.
The car and driver's license were confiscated.
The man expects a criminal case because of a prohibited motor vehicle race.
The police are still looking for witnesses.
