He thought he had the flu, but then he lost his sense of taste and smell: American actor Neil Patrick Harris and his family had been infected with the coronavirus back in the spring.
"It happened very early - late March, early April," said the 47-year-old ("How I Met Your Mother") in an interview on the "Today" show on Tuesday (local time).
He and his family then withdrew.
In the meantime he, husband David Burtka and the twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott have fully recovered from Covid-19: "We are doing very well," said Harris.
"It wasn't comfortable, but we got through it and we have antibodies and we feel good."
The reason for the interview was the publication of Harris' latest children's book, the fourth part of his book series "The Magic Misfits".
Harris, who played the womanizer Barney Stinson in "How I Met Your Mother", married Burtka in 2014.
