(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 03 - Looking at Dante directly infamous, placing himself at the height of the statue that portrays him in Florence, in Piazza Santa Croce, or, with an extraordinary point of view, admire the Last Judgment by Giorgio Vasarie Federico Zuccari in the dome of the cathedral of Santa Mariadel Fiore with a view of the fresco from top to bottom, thanks to a radio-controlled camera lowered with a fishing line from the top of the cathedral's lantern, 85 meters high.

And again, discover "Dante's boat" immersed in the waters of the Venice lagoon, a bronze work by the Georgian sculptor Georgy Frangulyan or be amazed to see Firenz represented as a planet in a photo taken by leaning a spherical image camera attached to an eight-long pole from a helicopter meters.

And again, looking for traces of Dante in the places of culture as well as in the streets of our cities and schools, among today's kids, nourishing us with a legacy that accompanies us in everyday life and that sails straight into the future.

All this is possible thanks to the exhibition "Dante 700 - A portrait of Dante and the poet's places in the photographs of Massimo Sestini", inaugurated on 3 October in Rome by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella in the Gregorian Palazzina del Palazzo del Quirinale, to celebrate the seventh centenary of the death of Alighieri, and can be visited virtually until 11 October.

With an original gaze capable of moving (also thanks to the use of innovative instruments, such as drones and very light cameras) Sestini, an internationally renowned photojournalist, offers the public a photographic story, traces and sub-traces of the Poet, who investigates the past to speak to the contemporary: a surprising path, made up of 20 shots, in 150x100 format, made in various points of Italy, right where Dante's presence becomes more evident.

Next to the photos there is also a wooden portal, coming from the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio, built in 1480 by Giuliano da Maiano and Francesco di Giovanni known as il Francione, based on a design by Sandro Botticelli, whose inlays portray Dante in full length.
