On Friday, October 2, Scottsdale officers responded to a "gunshot sound" in a Phoenix suburb, according to a police report shared with 'E!
News'.
"When officers arrived at the residence, information from witnesses and evidence at the scene indicated that a possible suspect might be present," a statement read, adding that police later found a "deceased adult woman. inside the house".
According to the police report, Breed's roommate returned to the house when he heard "multiple shots" coming from his room.
Soon after, authorities learned that the roommate saw Haeger leave Breed's room with a gun.
"Then Haeger pointed the gun at the roommate," according to the official report.
"The roommate quickly sneaked out the back of the residence and got a neighbor to call 9-1-1."

Following Breed's death, police were searching for the former Major League Baseball player.
His vehicle was discovered unoccupied Saturday afternoon and, hours later, he was found dead.
On Saturday night, the Scottsdale Police Department tweeted: "This was a domestic violence situation. Suspect was located in northern Arizona this afternoon and took his own life."
Before learning of Haeger's death, the Chicago Cubs released a statement about Breed.
"First, we would like to express our condolences to the Danielle Breed family," said the baseball team's vice president of communications, Julian Green, in a statement published in 'The Athletic'.
"Our hearts and prayers go out to her family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time."
"Charles Haeger was hired by the Chicago Cubs organization as a minor league pitching coach in November 2019.
