Anthony Fauci: Virus could have been around for years

According to Anthony Fauci, the leading US immunologist, Covid-19 will "not be a pandemic for long" thanks to rapid advances in vaccine development.
The corona virus could still be around for years, as quoted by the news site Bloomberg Fauci.
Fauci said at an event organized by the British think tank "Chatham House", people would have to continue to adhere to measures such as mouth and nose protection, hand washing and social distancing.
A virus mutation discovered in Danish mink is unlikely to affect vaccine development.
Fauci added that the public must also be prepared that protection against the virus - whether through vaccines or because the virus has been fought - will only last a year or two.
This statement is based on experience with similar viruses and the growing number of documented cases in which people were infected twice with the coronavirus.
Help is on the way, but not yet there, said Fauci and appealed to the people to persevere.
