The Football Federation's Court of Appeal rejected
Roma's
appeal in the
Diawara case.
Therefore confirmed the sentence of the sports judge who assigned the 3-0 in favor of Verona.
The sports judge had sanctioned the Giallorossi club with the loss of the match on 19 September last and valid for the first day of Serie A for having fielded a player not registered in the list of 25 of the squad.
The Federcalcio Sports Court of Appeal also rejected
Napoli's
appeal
against 0-3 and the penalty point for not playing the match against Juventus on 4 October.
The sports judge had punished De Laurentiis' club with a 3-0 defeat and a penalty point in the standings for not showing up at the Juventus Stadium for the match scheduled for last October 4th.
In the reasons, the Court reiterating that "the ultimate goal of the sports system is to enhance sporting merit, loyalty, honesty and healthy competition" underlines that "this principle does not appear to have been respected, in this case, by the Company applicant, whose behavior in the days preceding the one in which the Juventus-Napoli football match was scheduled, is aimed at pre-establishing, so to speak, an 'alibi' for not playing that match ".
