(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 17 - In the third quarter of 2020, 3,501,481 medical certificates arrived at INPS with an overall decrease of 11.3% and a significant fall in the public sector (-16.9%) compared to private (-10.04%). The data was disseminated by INPS in the Observatory on disease and is affected by the widespread use of smart working. Sickness certificates sent to INPS have decreased, especially in the Center (-15.6% overall, -22.6% in the public)) and in the South (-13% in total, -21.3% in the public).
On the other hand, sick days increased, albeit in a limited way, with + 2.4% in the private sector and + 0.1% in the public sector.
In practice, there are fewer requests for sick leave but with longer periods of morbidity. (HANDLE).
