SPIEGEL:

Mr. Eidinger, you are famous and notorious as an exaggeration actor who often dares to throw himself into his roles.

In "Babylon Berlin" you can be seen as a wandering offspring of an industrial dynasty, in the TV "Polizeiruf" as a transsexual dancer, and as Peer Gynt you romp around naked through the theater of the Berlin Schaubühne.

This is the second time you have played a lawyer in a debating drama by Ferdinand von Schirach - four years ago in "Terror" it was about the shooting down of a hijacked airplane, in "Gott" it was now about euthanasia.

What do you like about it?

Eidinger:

I am not the explosive rampage pig that some people describe me as.

You can see that I'm sitting here very quietly.

The great thing about my job is the versatility.

The larger the spectrum, the more attractive.

What I like about "God" is that the question of whether humans have a right to commit suicide is discussed from as many perspectives as possible.

This gives the audience the opportunity to form their own judgment.

I find that appealing, even if the patient exchange of arguments may be a stress test for some.
