Fashion and gaming items are particularly popular on Black Friday
In second and third place of the bestsellers on Black Friday weekend in 2018 and 2019 are
fashion and accessories
(15.68 percent) as well as
video games and game consoles
(13.67 percent).
Here, too, a trend is emerging.
While 17.35 percent of consumers were still interested in fashion in the Black Friday week of 2018, this fell to 11.91 percent in 2019.
The gaming product group recorded a similarly drastic decline.
In 2018, 16.87 percent of consumers were interested in video games and game consoles, in 2019 only 9.32 percent.
However, this interest could
rise again in
2020 with the

Black Friday weekend
in the past two years
.
In fifth place in the ranking of Black Friday bestsellers,
groceries
follow
with 3.22 percent.
The top ten is complemented by cosmetics and drugstore items (sixth place, 3.05 percent), toys (seventh place, 3.01 percent), travel (eighth place, 2.97 percent), sports and outdoor products (place nine, 2.39 percent) as well as DSL and mobile phone contracts (tenth place, 2.13 percent).

Above all, the
result for toys is
surprising
, as these are actually one of the best sellers shortly before Christmas.
In particular, Playmobil products have been
reduced rapidly

consumers were
interested in toys in the Black Friday week of 2018, compared to 3.7 percent in 2019.

The remaining
bestsellers on Black Friday 2018 and 2019
are in the study in leisure and events (eleventh place, 2.1 percent), financial products (twelfth place, 1.81 percent), garden products (13th place, 0.84 percent), streaming services such as Netflix (14th place, 0.77 percent) and accessories for cars and motorcycles (15th place, 0.51 percent).
The remaining 6.79 percent of consumers fall under miscellaneous.

It is not for nothing that Amazon always lures in “Cyber Week” with offers for in-house entertainment electronics such as Amazon Echo, Fire TV or Kindle tablets.
