Car wreck on Autobahn 99 near Hohenbrunn (Munich district)

At the Hohenbrunn junction on Tuesday evening around 9:40 p.m., a car drove against the direction of travel on the A99.
There, the wrong-way driver's car collided head-on with an oncoming car in the middle lane.
The driver and front passenger in both cars suffered fatal injuries.
The vehicles involved, an Audi and a VW Sharan, were badly destroyed and the victims trapped in the wreck.
Fire brigade, emergency doctors and two rescue helicopters were on duty.
The autobahn was closed for several hours in the direction of Salzburg.
